OKZZ Betting Odds: Decimal Odds and Probability

Quick Summary

  • Decimal odds show the total return per 1 Taka staked, including your stake.
  • Divide 1 by the odds to get the implied probability of an outcome.
  • Adding the implied chances of all outcomes shows the bookmaker's margin.
  • The odds format on OKZZ should be checked in the sportsbook settings.

Odds are just a price, and once you can read them, every market becomes easier to understand. Most sportsbooks used in Bangladesh show decimal odds, so this guide focuses on those. You will see how to calculate a return, how to turn a price into a percentage chance and how the bookmaker's margin is built into every market. We did not confirm the odds format on OKZZ, so look in its sportsbook settings to see which formats are offered.

How do decimal odds work?

Decimal odds tell you the total amount you get back for each 1 Taka staked, if the bet wins. The total includes your stake. So a bet of ৳100 at odds of 2.50 returns ৳250 if it wins: your ৳100 back plus ৳150 profit.

The formula is simple: return equals stake multiplied by odds. Profit equals return minus stake.

OddsStakeReturn if it winsProfit
1.50৳200৳300৳100
2.00৳200৳400৳200
3.75৳200৳750৳550
10.00৳200৳2,000৳1,800

What is implied probability?

Implied probability is the chance of an outcome that a price suggests. Take 1, divide it by the decimal price, then multiply the answer by 100. Odds of 2.00 imply a 50% chance. Odds of 4.00 imply 25%. Odds of 1.25 imply 80%.

This is useful because it lets you compare a price with your own view. If you think a team wins more often than the implied chance, the price may look attractive. If not, it may not.

Tip: if you cannot explain why your view differs from the price, the price is probably closer to reality than your hunch.

What is the bookmaker's margin?

Add up the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market. In a fair market they would total exactly 100%. In practice they total a little more, and the extra is the bookmaker's margin.

For example, a tennis match priced at 1.80 and 2.05 implies about 55.6% and 48.8%, which adds up to about 104.4%. The extra 4.4% is the margin. Lower totals mean fairer prices for you.

What about other odds formats?

Some books also offer fractional odds, like 5/2, or other regional formats. They all express the same idea. Fractional 5/2 equals decimal 3.50, because you win 5 for every 2 staked plus your stake back.

Whatever the format, never treat short odds as a sure thing. A price of 1.20 still loses about one time in six. Learn how prices apply in football betting and in cricket odds, or go back to the sports betting overview. Limit tools are covered on our responsible gaming page.

Frequently asked

Do higher odds mean a better bet?

Not necessarily. Higher odds mean a bigger payout but a lower chance of winning. A good bet is one where the price is generous compared with the true chance, which is hard to judge.

Why do odds change before a match?

Prices move as money comes in, team news is released and the bookmaker updates its view. A late injury or lineup change can shift odds quickly.

What does odds of 1.01 mean?

It means the outcome is seen as nearly certain, with an implied chance of about 99%. Even then, the return is tiny and the bet can still lose.

How do accumulator odds work?

The odds of each leg are multiplied together. Three selections at 2.00 each give combined odds of 8.00. The payout grows, but every leg must win.
